Europejskie Regionalne Centrum Ekohydrologii Polskiej Akademii Nauk, głosem Zgromadzenia Wykonawczego UNESCO otrzymało auspicje UNESCO. European Regional Centre for Ecohydrology of the Polish Academy of Sciences has received UNESCO auspices and is listed as the Category 2 UNESCO centre in Water Sciences.

Instytuty pod auspicjami UNESCO to globalna sieć jednostek działających w obszarach kompetencji UNESCO. Ze względu na swoją unikalną wiedzę instytuty te przyczyniają się do realizacji strategicznych priorytetów, programów i globalnych planów rozwoju UNESCO poprzez współpracę międzynarodową i regionalną, badania, rozwój nauki oraz doradztwo.
W kategorii nauk związanych z wodą, na świecie funkcjonuje 41 jednostek z tym prestiżowym tytułem!
European Regional Centre for Ecohydrology of the Polish Academy of Sciences has received UNESCO auspices and is listed as the Category 2 UNESCO centre in Water Sciences.
Category 2 centres and institutes contribute to the execution of UNESCO’s programme through capacity building; the exchange of information in a particular discipline; theoretical and experimental research; and advanced training. They are under the auspices of UNESCO but are not legally part of the Organization; they are associated with it through formal arrangements approved by the General Conference. These centres and institutes form a vast network of associated centres in the fields of water, renewable energy, science policy, biotechnology, geosciences, the basic sciences and remote sensing.
